Our debut collection explores the coastal villages in Sri Lanka and life in these communities grappling with climate change. This collection is a homage to the resilience of the people, land and sea through colours and motifs consciously designed to highlight the ongoing struggles and hopes for the future.
Mangrove forests, nature’s frontline defence against the sea, are at the heart of this story. With their intricate root systems and vital ecosystems, they shield coastlines and nurture marine life. The 2004 tsunami tragically underscored their importance, as thousands of lives were lost in Sri Lanka, many in areas where these natural barriers had disappeared. Through consciously designed colours and motifs, our debut collection reflects the tension and beauty of communities adapting to a changing climate, while holding fast to hope.
